Flirting with ceiling

During the Renaissance, ceilings was a place for artworks. Then it was a place to hang a light; recently, a place for hanging fan and finally these days a surface to decorate. We usually see the decorated ceiling in hotels or restaurants with high ceiling, but how about our home's ceiling which mostly is forgotten. There are lots of ideas and material that can help us to dance and flirt with ceiling: such as plaster, wall paper, stencil, fabric, medallion, wood, metal tile, mirror or even lighting fixture depends on the style.
